Abstract

My artistic practice is concerned with producing a body of work, which explore ideas which challenge the social norms whilst actively engage with the wider audience outside the boundaries of the traditional gallery by intergrading art within everyday social context.

The core aim within my research is to consider how social media and free and open source software has been utilised to create equality of participation within the arts from a variety of diverse backgrounds.

The secondarily aim is to investigate how contemporary creative Facilitators have developed fluid dialogue between the creative and the community, by using social media, free and open source software to engage, enrich and promote community integration.

The final aim of my research is investigate how social media is likely to develop in the future, by conducting a series of interviews with the intention of exploring both current artistic practice and theoretical research, which may offer a variety of opposing possible outcomes which will form the basis for the researcher to predict possible developments.
