Under Hokusai’s Wave (IE5)

Under Hokusai’s Wave,

Swimming –

With the birthday blues;

Warm wave of sweet tea-

Diminishes the nightmare-

Told you-

Too much thinking-

Is dangerous.

(Under Hokusai’s wave (IE5), is part of the Intangible Existence (IE9/2010) series of work, by the artist , currently reading MA student of Digital arts online, with Camberwell College of art, University of Arts, London.

The IE9 series work, encompasses a body of work, including traditional printmaking, lasers cut installation, origami interventions, moveable wooden sculpture, found art and animation.

Under Hokusai’s wave (IE5) is one of the largest work proposed, in which she wants to develop a dialogue with the audience by encouraging them to participate within the create process and become part of it, through their own interaction.

Under Hokusai’s wave, is an original poem, written by the artist, in which “Hokusai’s wave “becomes metaphor for life itself, the audience can become an active, participant simply by walking the wave. The wave, has no set path, just as life has none, one can choose to begin anywhere around the perimeter, where they perceived themselves, both in life and within the constructed reality of the installation. One can decide where to position oneself both in art, so to in life one can alter it through our own interventions. It will be possible to walk “Under Hokusai’s wave” and also ride its wave, although not at the same time. It is hoped that the work will be a positive and enjoyable work of art, by allowing the highly stressed people working in Manchester time to de- stress, by walking the wave, and also interact with people they may not meet otherwise.
